Trained at Western Technical School and the Ontario College of Art, Renbaum developed a multidisciplinary approach early in his career, combining formal art education with hands-on experience in design, photography, and printmaking. Working across media, including watercolor, acrylic, silkscreen, and photographic processes, Renbaum is best known for his vibrant, graphic compositions that draw on both pop art and stylized landscape traditions. Alongside his studio practice, Renbaum pursued a parallel career in commercial art, working as an illustrator and later as an art director specializing in environmental graphics in Toronto. In 1974, he founded Reflection Studios, a photography and design agency, which became a platform for his work in advertising, branding, and visual communication
